Kek Lok Si Temple is located on a split-level hilltop and will amaze you with its intricate design of the pagoda and the famous Pond of Longevity (where a hundred-plus tortoises live). As well, you’ll experience the magnificent statue of the Goddess of Mercy and find various souvenirs for the keen-eyed.
Your next destination is Penang Hill which is comprised of several hills which peak at approx. 833 metres (2,723ft) above sea level and is one of the oldest colonial hill stations established by the British during their time in Malaysia. While there enjoy the popular funicular railway which takes you to the top where you can enjoy the cooler temperatures and panoramic views of Georgetown and the eastern coast of Penang Island.
